How does the look back feature work?
The look back feature works automatically with no interaction from the admin except to determine the look back period time for the course. Your learner grade-books are set to allow automatic credit for modules previously completed in another course or at another institution. As the administrator you can decide the time frame in which credit will be accepted.
Example: Your institution decides that the look back period will be two years. This means learners will receive credit in new courses for modules completed within the past two years from the date that they enrolled in the course. In order for the learners to receive credit, the module must be exactly the same and be identified by the same module ID number.
You can set up different look back periods specific to your different courses. You can also opt out of using this feature and not allow credit for previously completed work. To change this, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
and request the look back period to be changed. Make sure to be specific with which grade-books the look back feature will apply to in your changes.
