Advantages of Using Single Sign On (SSO)

SSO is a secure process that allows learners to login to their organization’s site and pass through to the CITI Program to access their training materials, all while retaining their organizational credentials (username and password). It provides a cost effective way to save learner time and make administrative reporting easier.

Saving Learner Time

Usernames and passwords can be easily forgotten. However, because your learners use their existing organizational username and password regularly, it is something they remember easily. SSO eliminates the need to create a new username and password for CITI Program training, as it ensures each learner’s organizational credentials are carried over.

Automated Tools allow for username and password recovery, but that process requires additional time for the learner - time that could be spent getting started on their training requirements and subsequent duties.

Easier Administrative Reporting

SSO assures learners are correctly identified on training reports, as they are unequivocally linked to the organizational credentials, thus making reports easier to sort and accurately associate with your internal records. This also means your identity management policies govern your learners’ credentials.

Secure

CITI Program uses the standard Shibboleth process for SSO, which is one of the world’s most widely deployed, federated identity solutions and recognized by governments and organizations around the world as secure. Review technical details in our Knowledge Base.

Cost Effective

Members of InCommon, and which require no special data cleanups or programming modifications, will be billed a one-time fee of $1,000 for SSO implementation. For non-standard implementations, email us for a free estimate.
