What is Subscription Access Control
Subscription Access Control allows organizations to limit who can access the training materials available under their organization’s CITI Program subscription. The CITI Program offers several features to utilize System Access Control with varying degrees of technical set up, administrative support, and maintenance to meet the needs of our diverse subscription base.
(1) Access Control by Single Sign On
Single Sign On (SSO) is a process that allows your organization’s learners to access the CITI Program training website without logging into the CITI Program directly. Your learners log into your organizational intranet/log in application and can pass through to the CITI Program website without any additional authentication from the learner. The SSO option can limit access to your subscription to only learners who have access to your intranet/log in application.
The function does require coordination with your organization's IT personnel. Please review the general information and SSO technical specifications to determine if the single sign on is a good option for your organization's access control needs.
(2) Access Control by Email Domain
Access Control by Email Domain limits who affiliates with your with organization by cross-checking that the email address the learner provides is from your authorized domain.
The domain is the last one or two segments of an email address; for example in "tester @campus.state.edu" the domain is state. edu and would include subdomains such as campus.state. edu and office.state. edu.
This type of access control functionality utilizes the organizational email address field in the organizational profile, not the learner’s primary email on the account, to allow learners to affiliate with multiple organizations.
This option requires minimal support from your IT personnel, but depending on your chosen set up may require ongoing intervention from a CITI Administrator at your organization. Please review the Access Control by Email Domain documentation for more information.
