Overview
Institutional Administrators can add courses to a learner's account from the learner's Member Information page. The Add a Course feature provides two options:
- Enrollment via Enrollment Questions (recommended when learners should be assigned courses based on institution-configured enrollment questions)
- Choose Courses from a List (allows administrators to directly select available courses)
Before You Begin
Navigate to the learner's record:
- Log in as an Institutional Administrator.
- Select Admin.
- Navigate to Institution Management.
- Select Members > Member Search.
- Locate and open the learner's account.
- On the learner's Member Information page, select Add Courses.
Method 1: Add Courses Using Enrollment Questions
Use this option when course assignments are based on your institution's enrollment questions.
Step 1: Select Enrollment via Enrollment Questions
- Select Enrollment via Enrollment Questions.
- Click Submit.
Step 2: Answer Enrollment Questions
The system will display the enrollment questions configured for your institution.
- Select the appropriate category or categories.
- Click Next.
Step 3: Select the Appropriate Learner Role or Course Group
Based on the category selected, additional questions may appear.
- Select the option that best matches the learner's role or research activities.
- Click Next.
Step 4: Review Assigned Courses
The system automatically assigns the courses linked to the selected enrollment question responses.
Method 2: Add Courses from a List
Use this option to directly assign available courses to a learner.
Step 1: Select Choose Courses from a List
- Select Choose Courses from a List.
- Click Submit.
Step 2: Select a Course and Stage
The system displays available course groups and stages.
- Locate the course group you want to assign.
- Select the appropriate stage:
- Stage 1 – Basic Course
- Refresher stages, if applicable
- Click the appropriate button to continue and save the assignment.
Step 3: Verify Course Assignment
After the course is successfully added, return to the learner's Member Information page and confirm the course appears in the Curriculum Information section.
A Stage Conflict Resolution page may appear when a learner's previous coursework history conflicts with the stage selected during the course assignment process.
For example, a learner may be assigned to a Refresher stage based on the selected course or enrollment responses, but existing coursework records indicate the learner should remain in a different stage.
When this occurs:
- Review the stage suggested by the current course assignment.
- Review the stage indicated by the learner's existing coursework history.
- Select the appropriate stage placement.
- Click Submit to continue.
The selected stage will be used when the course is added to the learner's curriculum.
Notes
- Available courses depend on the subscriptions and content available to the learner's institution.
- Enrollment Questions only display courses linked to the institution's configured enrollment question responses.
- Not all course groups include multiple stages.
- Administrators can review assigned courses from the learner's Curriculum Information section.
-
The Stage Conflict Resolution page may appear when adding courses through either the Enrollment via Enrollment Questions or Choose Courses from a List method. Administrators should select the stage that best reflects the learner's current training status and institutional requirements.
